Obedience – Puppy

Obedience Basics for the Teenage Dog

OBEDIENCE BASICS for the TEENAGE DOG

This class is for the adolescents, ages 6 months to 1 year that didn’t attend an early age puppy class. The goal of this class is to help puppies and their owners navigate the difficult teenage year challenges as the puppies grow, get stronger and more willful.

Class Goals are to build reliability and consistency in response to basic cues (i.e., sit, down, come, wait, walk on a loose leash) by adding duration, resistance to distractions, and prompt correct responses. We will continue to work on aspects of “living with dogs” like attention span, mild reactivity, digging, barking, and other behaviors that are not specifically task related. The main goal is to build joy for training for both handler and dog and help both the dog and handler navigate the teens successfully. The class is 6-weeks $120

Parkour

Private Instruction Rally

We offer private instruction at a time a date that is convenient for you. All Private Instruction is in one-hour increments. Enroll for the instruction and a trainer will contact you directly to set a date and time.  Class Fee: $80/hour

Rally – Advanced

Price range: $25.00 through $100.00

This class is for the dog/handler teams who are ready to show or are showing and want to sharpen and enhance their performances. Class is a mix of Intermediate/Advanced Dogs. Class runs continuously. Join at any time by paying for the number of sessions in the month. Class fees: $20 per session paid monthly. Prerequisite: Intermediate Rally or Instructor permission.

Rally – Beginning

This class is for novice dogs and handlers. Basic rally skills are taught plus dogs and handlers learn to navigate the 10-15 signs they will see on a novice course. Class Fee: $120 for 6-week session.

Rally – Intermediate

Price range: $25.00 through $100.00

This class is for the dog/handler teams who have basic skills are ready to move on to more complex courses. The 12-17 advanced signs are taught. Class runs continuously. Sessions are $20.  Join at any time by paying for the number of sessions in the month. Prerequisite: Beginning Rally or Instructor permission.

Rally – Virtual Video Session

One half hour Virtual Rally Video Session . One of our videographers will contact you to schedule a time. We’ll video on your equipment or ours. We’ll provide you with the video so you can submit it to AKC for consideration. We can video multiple courses at a session. You get 3 tries per course to qualify. Enroll for each session separately. Video Session Fee: $40/course.

Rally Course Workshop

Price range: $25.00 through $100.00

Getting ready to compete? Need more time and practice with your partner on courses? This workshop is for you. Every week we will set a beginning and an intermediate course. The workshop is to let you work on skills you’ve already learned in class. Focused on competition, courses will be doable but challenging. Weekly workshops are $20 per week per dog if paid by the month or $25 for a single workshop session.

Rat Hunting Beginner

Price range: $25.00 through $100.00

Beginning dogs get highly individualized instruction in rat hunting basics like discriminating between hot scent vs. residual scent, tube or critter cages as containers, different types of locations, signaling, height work and how to communicate with their owners that they have found the rat. Dogs can start at any time during the month. Drop-ins are welcome. Class fees: $20/class. Paid monthly. Drop-Ins are welcome. Drop in fee: $25 per dog.
