Obedience Training

Obedience skills are essential in today’s fast-paced world.

Teaching your dog appropriate social behaviors makes them good canine citizens plus those skills are the foundation on which all dog sports are built.

We ask a lot from our dogs. Whether you have a new puppy, a rescue dog, or an older dog with challenges, we have a class for you. Our goal is to help you maximize your dog’s skills whether they are a devoted family member or a sports competitor.

Classes Offered

PUPPY CLASS (up to 7 months)

There’s nothing cuter or more challenging than a puppy. From the moment you pick up your pup they are learning. Like little sponges, they absorb everything around them. So where do you start? How do you help them grow and learn all the things they need to learn to survive and thrive?

This class will help you puppy learn basic manners, socialization skills and skills they need when meeting new people, going new places, and discovering the world.

Our goal is for your puppy to not only be a good canine citizen but to help you build a strong bond so together you can take on the world. Class fee: $120 which includes S.T.A.R. puppy certificate.

OBEDIENCE BASICS for the TEENAGE DOG

This class is for the adolescents, ages 6 months to 1 year that didn't attend an early age puppy class. The goal of this class is to help puppies and their owners navigate the difficult teenage year challenges as the puppies grow, get stronger and more willful.

Class Goals are to build reliability and consistency in response to basic cues (i.e., sit, down, come, wait, walk on a loose leash) by adding duration, resistance to distractions, and prompt correct responses. We will continue to work on aspects of “living with dogs” like attention span, mild reactivity, digging, barking, and other behaviors that are not specifically task related. The main goal is to build joy for training for both handler and dog and help both the dog and handler navigate the teens successfully. The class is 6-weeks $120

Focus & Control

This class is basic obedience on steroids. It is designed for dogs of any age with challenges, dogs who aren’t comfortable with other dogs, people or noise, dogs who are high drive and don’t know how to focus and pay attention or dogs who lack socialization skills, are shy or fearful. If you own a canine juvenile delinquent, this is your class and there is hope.

Dogs learn basic obedience and life skills like how to crate, sit calmly, pay attention, and how to tolerate other animals and people. This class focuses on helping handlers understand dog behaviors, what triggers unwanted responses and helping dogs build confidence and skills for today's world. There are NO DOGS AT THE FIRST CLASS. 7-week session $195
