Regardless of your or your dog's age or physical ability, there's a dog sport for you. Today's owners and canines have a myriad of disciplines to choose from. Sports challenge minds while enhancing the dog-human bond and building confidence in your furry friend. 

Here are some of the other disciplines we teach at Comp K9. Not all disciplines are taught every quarter. Some are seminar events, some are classes and some are both. Let us know if you're interested in these or other disciplines and we'll let you know when the next one is scheduled. 

Disc Dog

Disc Dog is typically held in a seminar format with one day learning new skills and then a second day practicing those skills and applying them in a fun event format like Toss and Fetch. The seminar is typically held on two days. One for skills and one for a fun event. Seminar is taught by an expert competitor in the sport. Parkour

Parkour (also known as “urban agility”) combines elements of human parkour with elements of dog agility to build strength, boost confidence and develop teamwork. Dogs learn jumping, climbing, balancing on, and crawling under skills as well as sends around obstacles in their everyday world. Parkour can be done inside or outside. Parkour can be as low impact as needed or as over the top as is safe for your dog. This fun game can be done anywhere you and your dog travel and is only limited by your imagination. Parkour 2

Fitness

No matter what sport you choose to participate in, your dog needs to be physically fit. This class teaches you basic fitness. Dancing with Dogs

Canine Freestyle is a mixture of obedience training, tricks, and dance set to music that allows for creative interaction between dogs and their owners. Class will cover basic skills, how to design and then train a routine, how to choose music and getting ready to compete. Freestyle is taught in both seminar and class structure.

Kidz Kamp 2023 - July 16 through August 6.

Each summer, Comp K9 sponsors a 4 week camp for juniors. The campers meet once a week for a two hour training session in multiple disciplines. Campers learn basics in agility, obedience, tricks, disc dogs, critter hunting, dog crafts and canine health and wellness. Camp is open to any junior from 6 to 18. We have a limited number of "loaner" dogs for families with more kids than dogs. There is no charge for camp. Enter CK9ERS in the coupon code box when you enroll. CONFORMATION HANDLING

Taught by experienced handlers and judges, this class will help you learn how to evaluate your dog in relation to your breed standard and then help you maximize your dog's strengths and minimize their weaknesses. You'll learn how to condition your dog, how to keep records and get lots of practice in handling. If you're an experienced handler, this class with make you better. If you're just starting out, you'll gain experience and confidence. Class is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of the year. Class Fee: $20 per class paid monthly or $25 per class for drop ins. TREIBBALL

Treibball (pronounced tribe-ball) is an interactive sport where handlers direct dogs as they move inflatable balls around a course and into a goal. Dogs use the same body movements that they would in herding livestock. Often referred to as urban herding, Treibball is a fun game for dogs of any size or any breed. This sport teaches body awareness and team work. Treibball is typically taught in a combination format of a seminar followed by weekly practice classes.  Class Fee: $150 for both the seminar (1 day) and 6 weeks of practice.
