FUND RAISER for K9 Officer, Evi
Meet Sheriff's K9 Officer Evi
Evi is a four year old Belgian Malinois from Germany. She joined the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department in 2023 and works with her partner, Deputy Sheriff Walker Combs. Together they patrol El Dorado County keeping us safe from the bad guys!
Why the Fund Raiser? EDCSO K9s are unique in that their partners/handlers actually own the dogs and lease them to the Sheriff's Department. That means if the Officer is injured and needs recuperation time, their K9 can't be reassigned. The dog stays with their handler. It also means that the Officer is responsible for the dog's food, health care and equipment. The Sheriff's Department created a Not For Profit called the El Dorado County Canine Association to provide funds for care and equipment needs for their K9s.
So back to the Fund Raiser. Evi is a small Malinois. Because of the dangerous work she does, she needs a patrol vest when she works but the sizes available don't fit her. It's either too small (she has trouble breathing; it's very tight) or too large (it rides up and exposes her to potential injury). She needs a custom fitted patrol vest.
Comp K9 is working with the El Dorado County Canine Association to raise the $4,000 to get her properly outfitted with a Patrol SWAT Vest for safety and comfort as she protects the citizens of El Dorado County.
How can you help? You can donate directly to the Vest Fund using the QR below and/or you can participate in some of the fun activities that will generate funds for her vest.
Our first event for Evi is the Portraits with Santa on December 6, 2025. If you'd like to participate, click the "Santa" button below and it will take you to that page.
Thank You for helping Evi.
